These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your enrollment in and participation in financial education programs offered by Anchor Ledger ("we," "our," or "us"). By enrolling in a program or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Definitions
For purposes of these Terms:
- "Service" refers to the financial education programs, calculation templates, instructional materials, and post-completion support provided by Anchor Ledger.
- "Participant" or "you" refers to any individual who enrolls in our programs or uses our website.
- "Program" refers to any of our structured educational offerings: Introduction to Financial Ratios, Retirement Fund Comparison, or Wealth Preservation Strategy.
- "Content" refers to calculation methods, benchmark tables, templates, educational materials, and other proprietary information provided during programs.
- "Agreement" refers to these Terms & Conditions along with our Privacy Policy and any program-specific enrollment documents.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By enrolling in a program, submitting payment, or accessing our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not enroll in our programs or use our services.
Age Requirement: You must be at least 18 years old to enroll in our programs. By enrolling, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.
Capacity to Contract: You represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into this Agreement and are not prohibited by law from receiving our services.
3. Service Description
Anchor Ledger provides structured financial education programs that teach calculation methods, comparative analysis techniques, and quantitative assessment tools. Our programs include:
- In-person instruction at our Setapak, Kuala Lumpur location
- Small group sessions (maximum eight participants)
- Calculation templates and benchmark reference materials
- 30 days of post-completion instructor support via email
- Access to updated benchmark library for program alumni
Service Availability: Programs are offered subject to instructor availability and minimum enrollment requirements. We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule programs with at least seven days' notice. If we cancel a program, you will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to a future session.
Educational Nature: Our services are purely educational. We do not provide financial advice, investment recommendations, or product sales. We do not manage assets, execute trades, or make specific allocation recommendations for your portfolio.
4. Enrollment and Registration
Enrollment Process: To enroll in a program, you must complete our registration form, provide required contact information, and submit payment. Enrollment is confirmed only upon receipt of payment and availability confirmation from our team.
Program Prerequisites: Some programs assume basic mathematical literacy (ability to perform arithmetic operations and understand percentages). If you have questions about program suitability, contact us before enrolling.
Couples Enrollment: Two participants from the same household may attend programs together and work with combined household data at no additional charge. This represents a single enrollment with two attendees.
5. Participant Responsibilities
As a participant, you agree to:
- Attend all scheduled sessions or notify us in advance if you must miss a session
- Bring your own financial data for calculation exercises (income statements, asset lists, etc.)
- Participate actively in calculation exercises and complete any assigned practice work
- Respect the confidentiality of other participants' financial information
- Use program materials and content solely for personal educational purposes, not for commercial use or redistribution
- Behave professionally and respectfully toward instructors and other participants
- Follow our facility rules and maintain appropriate conduct during sessions
Prohibited Activities: You may not record sessions (audio or video), share program materials with non-participants, or use our content to offer competing educational services without our explicit written permission.
6. Intellectual Property
Our Rights: All calculation templates, benchmark tables, instructional materials, methodologies, and content provided during programs are the proprietary intellectual property of Anchor Ledger. We retain all rights, title, and interest in this content.
License Granted: Upon enrollment, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use program materials solely for your personal educational and financial planning purposes. This license does not permit commercial use, public distribution, or resale of materials.
Restrictions: You may not modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from our materials. You may not remove copyright notices or proprietary markings from any materials we provide.
7. Payment Terms
Program Fees: Current program fees are listed on our website and are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (RM). Fees cover all instruction, materials, templates, and post-completion support. There are no additional charges unless explicitly stated.
Payment Methods: We accept bank transfer, online payment, and major credit/debit cards processed through secure third-party payment providers. Payment is due in full at enrollment unless we have agreed to an alternative arrangement in writing.
Refund Policy: If you cancel enrollment more than 14 days before the program start date, we will provide a full refund minus a 10% administrative fee. Cancellations made 7-14 days before the start date receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made less than 7 days before the start date are non-refundable. If you cannot attend a session due to emergency circumstances, contact us to discuss options for rescheduling or partial credit toward a future program.
Fee Changes: We reserve the right to change program fees for future offerings. Fees are locked in at enrollment and will not change for programs you have already registered for.
8. Disclaimers
Educational Service Only: Our programs provide education about calculation methods and comparative analysis techniques. We do not provide financial advice, investment recommendations, tax guidance, or legal counsel. You should consult licensed professionals for advice specific to your situation.
No Outcome Guarantees: We cannot guarantee specific financial outcomes from applying methods learned in our programs. Your financial results depend on many factors including your individual circumstances, market conditions, and implementation of learned techniques.
Benchmark Limitations: Benchmark data and product performance information provided during programs is sourced from publicly available official sources but may be subject to change. We update data quarterly but cannot guarantee real-time accuracy of all figures.
As-Is Basis: Our services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, Anchor Ledger and its instructors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from:
- Your use of or inability to use our services
- Financial decisions you make based on methods learned in our programs
- Any errors or omissions in program content or materials
- Any interruption or cessation of our services
Our total liability to you for any damages shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific program giving rise to the claim. This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory on which the claim is based.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Anchor Ledger, its instructors, employees, and affiliates from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your violation of these Terms, (b) your misuse of program materials, (c) your violation of any third-party rights, or (d) financial decisions you make following program participation. This indemnification obligation survives termination of your participation in our programs.
11. Termination
Your Right to Terminate: You may withdraw from a program at any time subject to our refund policy outlined in Section 7. If you withdraw after the program has begun, no refund will be provided but you will retain access to materials already distributed.
Our Right to Terminate: We reserve the right to remove a participant from a program without refund if they engage in disruptive behavior, violate participant responsibilities, breach confidentiality obligations, or otherwise fail to comply with these Terms.
Effect of Termination: Upon termination, your license to use program materials expires, except for materials already provided which you may continue to use for personal purposes only. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property provisions, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.
12. Dispute Resolution
Governing Law: These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Jurisdiction: Any disputes arising from these Terms or your participation in our programs shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.
Informal Resolution: Before initiating any formal dispute resolution, we encourage you to contact us directly at [email protected] to attempt informal resolution. Many disputes can be resolved quickly through direct communication.
13. General Provisions
Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Anchor Ledger regarding your participation in our programs and supersede all prior oral or written agreements.
Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining Terms remain in full force and effect.
Waiver: Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision. Any waiver must be in writing and signed by our authorized representative.
Assignment: You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your enrollment in any program without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms to a successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Notices: All notices to Anchor Ledger must be sent to [email protected]. We will provide notices to you at the email address you provided during enrollment. You are responsible for maintaining current contact information.
14. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms periodically to reflect changes in our programs, legal requirements, or business practices. When we make changes, we will:
- Post the updated Terms on our website with a revised "Last Updated" date
- Notify enrolled participants by email if changes materially affect their program participation
- Provide a reasonable period for review before changes take effect
Your continued participation in programs after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree with changes, you may withdraw from future programs subject to our refund policy.
